Dariusz Mizera Born December 29th 1967, in Bytom. Dariusz Mizera first studied at Music High School in Bytom with Prof. Gerard Przbyła (the first solo double bass player in “Wielka Orkiestra Polskiego Radia i Telewizji w Katowicach”).
He improved his skills at “Akademia Muzyczna w Warszawie” under the tutelage of prof. Tadeusz Pelczar. At the age of twenty-one, second double bass soloist in “Polska Orkiestra Radiowa w Warszawie” After graduating from “Akademia Muzyczna” he did not stop improving his playing technique. Classes with double bass masters like Evgeniy Kolossov/Russia, Francois Rabbath/France and Franco Petracchi/Italy were opening up new possibilities and musical experiences. In 1990 Dariusz Mizera became the principal soloist of “Warszawska Opera Kameralna” and performed works of Mozart, Rossini and Polish composers around Europe. In 1995 the principal soloist in the Malmoe Symphony Orchestra in Sweden and since July 1995, in the Danish Concert Orchestra at the Danish National Radio in Copenhagen. Eight years stay in Denmark has been very intensive for Mizera. He has played solo concerts with the orchestra, recitals, has made records for Danish radio and has released his first solo CD with Bottesini’s works. He has won the second prize at Giovanni Bottesini Competition in Italy and the first prize at Joseph Prunner’s Double Bass Competition in 2002 in Bucharest. Dariusz Mizera has taken part and won prizes at Polish competitions like „Przesłuchanie młodych kontrabasistów” in Elbląg (third prize), “Konkurs muzyki kameralnej” in Wrocław (first prize), “Adam Bronisław Ciechański Competition” (first prize), “Yamacha Foundation of Europe” (first prize). Since 2002 the principal soloist of the Zürich Opernhaus and from 2005 the professorship in Neuchâtel (Switzerland). He plays concerts and cooperates with Kammer Zuercher Orchester, Solisten Zug, Neuchatel Orchester, Kammer Ensamble Chaemeleon, Arauer Symphony Orchester. |
